How long have you worked at the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation?

I started with the Foundation on the 24th October, 2022

What has your journey been within the Foundation to get to where you are today?

I joined as the Project Manager for the newly named employability initiative, Hedley’s Beyond. We have watched this initiative go from strength to strength in this time.

What does an average day look like for you?

I have an incredibly exciting job, one that fills my every day with new and diverse experiences.ÌýÌýÌý

Some days, I find myself in colleges, schools, or Horizons engaging with students and service users to understand their hopes, dreams, and what truly inspires them.ÌýÌýÌý

On other days, I’m out supporting employers from a wide range of industries, getting to know their work and helping them shape meaningful student placements. I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the making of Greggs sausage rolls at the factory, touring the toilet roll plant in Prudhoe, and visiting vibrant venues like the Live Theatre and the Discovery Museum. Each experience fuels my passion for making a real difference.Ìý

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen in your time at the Foundation?

The Hedley’s Beyond project was a newly formed initiative, with only minimal connections within the Foundation and with our business partners. Since joining, we have established ties with over 50 employer partners, providing 85 work placements just in the last academic year for students and service users supported by the Foundation. And this year, we are determined to surpass that number, as we look to create more opportunities and make a real difference.

What’s your favourite part about your role?

The thrill of truly connecting a student or service user with an organisation that deeply resonates with their dreams and aspirations is nothing short of inspiring. I vividly remember a powerful moment when the Live Theatre offered an assistant director placement to a student who was passionate for the world of theatre. That moment ·É²¹²õ²Ô’t just an opportunity—it was a life-changing turning point.ÌýÌý

What is your greatest memory of working at the Foundation?

Having the incredible opportunity to present awards on behalf of the generous businesses who sponsored them, to the College students in 2024.ÌýÌý

A piece of advice to someone joining the Foundation?

Stay passionate about what you do, because each day offers you the incredible chance to truly make a difference in someone’s life. Let your enthusiasm ignite your purpose and remind yourself that your work matters.
